New York does have laws that limit the time an injured person has to file an injury claim after an automobile collision. This only applies to seeking legal remedies and not filing insurance claims.
In New York, a person has just three years to start a lawsuit concerning a motor vehicle accident, when the wrongdoer is a private citizen or corporation.
