Is New York a No-Fault State for Car Accidents?

VIDEO TRANSCRIPT

In New York, if you are in a car accident, you’re entitled to no fault insurance coverage. That insurance coverage will go through the vehicle that you were occupying at the time of the accident unless you were a pedestrian. If you’re a pedestrian, the no fault insurance coverage goes through the vehicle that hit you. No fault insurance will provide you coverage for your medical bills and pay for all of your medical treatment up to at least $50,000. In addition, no fault insurance coverage will pay for your time at work and reimburse you for your lost wages. No fault insurance coverage also provides coverage for some incidental expenses, such as transportation expenses to and from the doctor. If you have any questions about applying for no fault coverage, please give us a call. We are certainly here to help you and can help you with the paperwork necessary to fill out the application for no fault insurance coverage, which has to be submitted to your insurance company within 30 days.
