Katherine (Kate) Henderson is an associate attorney at Lever & Ecker, PLLC, where she represents people hurt in car crashes, falls and other accidents across Westchester County and New York City. She is admitted in New York (2023) and in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York (2024).
She Learned This Practice From Inside It
Kate did not arrive at Lever & Ecker as a lateral hire. She started here in 2019 as a law student intern, stayed with the firm through the rest of law school at the Elisabeth Haub School of Law at Pace University, and joined full time in August 2022. She describes her first day in her own words:
“On my first day here as an intern, the firm had just retained a client who was hospitalized after a terrible accident, and the way that everybody was motivated here to help him and to speak with his family was very, very inspiring. From that day on I realized that this was the kind of firm that I wanted to work with.”
Why Law
Before law school, Kate worked alongside attorneys in a previous job, and she says their example is what pushed her toward a legal career. She earned her B.S. in Business Administration with distinction from Pace University in Pleasantville in 2018, with a minor in law, and her J.D. from Pace University School of Law in 2021, where she focused her coursework on civil litigation.
What Clients Can Expect
Kate works each case alongside the firm’s partners, including Adam C. Weiss and David B. Lever. Clients who have worked with her point to the same thing: regular contact. One client wrote that she “never failed to keep in touch diligently.” Another, for whom English is a second language, noted how much the team’s patience in explaining each step mattered.
Speaking Up About Child Safety
Kate has appeared in regional and national media on youth program and summer camp safety, including NBC WCNC-TV on what parents should know before signing waivers for children’s activities, ONNJ’s “Mornings with Ken Rosato” on after-school safety, and Patch New York on youth program pitfalls. In September 2025 she joined David B. Lever, Daniel G. Ecker and Adam C. Weiss on the Law In Session webinar “Hard Hats, Hard Truths,” advising workers on documenting unsafe job sites and what to do in the first 24 to 48 hours after an injury.
Recognition
Kate was selected to the New York Metro Super Lawyers Rising Stars list in 2025 and 2026 and appears on Hudson Valley Magazine’s 2026 Top Lawyers list.
Outside the Office
Kate lives in White Plains with her husband Jesse, their son, and a cat named Wirt, and says a lot of her free time goes to jigsaw puzzles and working out. She supports the Pace Women’s Justice Center, SPCA Westchester and Feeding Westchester.
